Pastor Thomas Unke
I grew up in Wisconsin, but have served churches in Oregon, Michigan, Iowa, and Washington. My wife Jackie and I have been married for over thirty years and have four adult children (plus one son-in-law.) We moved to Las Vegas in 2016 and love living in the desert southwest.
I enjoy meeting people and sharing what I’ve learned about Jesus and his love. Too many people assume that God wants them to do certain things—but that’s not it at all. God wants to tell us about how much he loves us and what he’s done to reach us with his love. It’s incredible to share the love of Jesus every day as a pastor—I’m really blessed to do that for my job!
I admit to being a passionate sports fan of all Wisconsin teams, and I’ve been on the VGK bandwagon from day one. We’ve also enjoyed hiking all around the southwest. I’d love it if you’d contact me or drop in to my office—I’ll show you all my Packers gear, including my Brett Favre autographed helmet!
Preschool Director Jackie Unke
Jackie Unke is our preschool director and teaches 4-year-old preschool. She has a bachelor’s degree in education, and has taught for almost 20 years at every grade level up to high school—the last 12 in early childhood education. Jackie also directs our church choir and accompanies worship on piano and organ.
I grew up in San Jose, California, where my dad was a pastor. I love working with children and watching them grow academically and in faith. I get to share the love of Jesus with them every day!
My husband is Pastor Unke—we’ve been married more than 30 years. We have two sons, Jon & Zach, and two daughters, Emily (married to Jesse Rider) and Maria. Living in Las Vegas has allowed us to see them all very regularly, which I love. We all enjoy traveling and hiking in the national parks in the southwest–it’s all SO beautiful!
